Employer-School Partnerships
CASE STUDY
Helping Netherhall School build a powerful partnership with Price Bailey.
The challenge
Netherhall School were looking to raise aspirations and build workplace knowledge among their Sixth Form community. Employer-supported career guidance was an area the school wanted to improve upon, giving students more interactions with employers. Something proven to improve a young person’s future prospects.
How we helped
Since 2017 we have worked with leading accountancy firm Price Bailey to develop and manage their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, PB Inspires. This programme aims to improve the future prospects of young people in the firm’s communities – Bishop’s Stortford, Cambridge, London and Norwich – by providing employability and careers support in schools in those locations.
We approached Netherhall School to establish a long-term partnership as part of PB Inspires, which began in Spring 2017, focusing on students in Year 12 and 13. Since then, we have delivered a package of employer-led careers experiences including:
- Career Coaching
- Career Inspiration
- CV Writing
- Enterprise Days
- Interview Skills
- Work Placements
Outcomes & Next Steps
In our first year of working with Netherhall School on PB Inspires, we have enabled over 250 students to access employer-led careers guidance and employability support. We have also provided over 100 hours of work experience to students in Year 12.
This has raised the aspirations of the Sixth Form community and enabled them to more clearly envisage their future career.
We are now embarking on a further two-year relationship with Netherhall School on PB Inspires, aiming to support many more students as they explore their future careers.
The School's View
“Working with Visionpath and being part of PB Inspires has proven to us over time to be really beneficial. Students get first-hand guidance from real professionals working for one of the leading local employers, providing a new outlook on their careers and opportunities they may not otherwise experience.”
