So, what does being a Programmes Assistant involve?
I assist with the day-to-day running of the programmes, focusing on their organisation, communication and preparation. Some of my work includes assisting my colleagues, organising outreach by finding and contacting schools, and designing different resources used in the programmes.
What made you want to work for Visionpath?
I work for Visionpath because we have a clear purpose of improving people’s lives and giving everyone an equal opportunity in their early careers. I don’t believe people should be judged on things they can’t control. I do believe increasing social diversity can only have a positive impact on a working environment.
I enjoy working here because it’s clear everyone on the team is passionate about the same thing and we’re all united in achieving the same goal – everyone wants to have a positive impact on people and will offer assistance and support at any time.

What’s the best part of your job?
I think the most satisfying thing is that a small thing I do at work could impact someone else’s career or life. Small or big, I’m glad if I can positively impact someone else in some way or another.
Why do you think businesses are mad to miss out on socially diverse talent?
I think businesses should focus on searching for the best talent out there to fill their roles, so excluding a group of people who could be suited and help their business become more successful is self-sabotaging. People gain knowledge from different life experiences, so having people from all different backgrounds can only result in different perspectives and benefit a business.

What do you love to do outside of work?
I’m most interested in spending quality time with my family and friends. I’m passionate about travelling and experiencing different cultures whilst exploring the world. I spent my childhood dancing in my spare time – it was a huge passion that taught me much more than just dancing, which is something I carry with me into my fitness and everyday life.
Here at Visionpath, we do what we do because we want all young people – no matter their background – to start their career on an equal footing. And because we know that, right now, businesses are missing out on a wealth of untapped talent.
